SANDS - Stillbirth And Neonatal Death Society
Tunbridge Wells Area SANDS Group
!! UPDATE !!
There will be no support group meeting in January.

Tunbridge Wells area Sands group (Stillbirth And Neonatal Death Charity) provides help and support for bereaved parents and families who have suffered the death of a baby either before, during, or shortly after birth. This support is provided free of charge and is open to all bereaved parents, grandparents, and other family members, no matter how recently or long ago the loss occurred.

Sands meets the first Tuesday of each month in Southborough (between Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge). Please contact us, or see the "Support" page, for more information on our support meetings if you are interested in attending.

In 2006 Sands celebrated the grand opening of the Childrens Memorial Garden in Tunbridge Wells. The Garden is open daily at the Kent & Sussex Crematorium. Everyone is invited to visit at any time the Crematorium is open. Parents and families bereaved of a child are especially welcome. There is no admission charge to visit the Garden.

"A woman who loses her husband is called a widow.
A man who loses his wife is called a widower.
A child who loses its parents is called an orphan.
There is no word to describe a parent who loses a child, for there is no word to describe the pain."
