Sevenoaks District Community Theatre
SDCT is an initiative of SDAC, supported by SDC. Its purpose is to produce theatrical events involving players from as many member groups as possible.

The latest idea is called 'What'll It Be Like'. This is based on the Living History project that has been running. It is currently in the design stage and will probably involve two if not three small companies. The performance itself will be designed to fit into a corner of a lounge or dining room in the smallest residential or nursing home. The script is being built around everyday topics of war time:- Rationing, Holidays, Jobs, Shortages etc. More details will follow once the project has evolved further.

Past successes have been:

"Celebration '93" performed in the open-air at Knole Park.

"The Beggars' Opera"

"Celebration 2000"

"A Right Royal Celebration" -A specially-written dramatised narrative to mark the 50th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the throne in 2002. Written by Diana Edwardes, the script traced the lives of queens who have ruled in their own right.
