Outing to Margate - 19th July 2008
Three of the twelve shell ladies that were dotted around Margate. On the historic walk we saw 9 of them. They each represent a famous (or infamous) lady of Margate.
The "Shell Ladies" are 7ft sculptures made from scallop shells collected from local fisherman during the year. (http://www.theshelllady.co.uk/Gallery.html)

Tudor House. After the Napoleonic wars it was converted into three cottages for returning soldiers.
After the second world war it was in a bad state of disrepair and was nearly demolished. Instead it was restored and is now open for viewing (free of charge).

The weather was dry throughout, although black clouds drifted over us as we ate lunch.

Folk Safari with Merton, 15th June 2008.
John the Town Crier who announced us at the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells.
We had a good audience and so we included two spots of joining in which went down very well. A good end to an enjoyable day out.
