Pembury Portage Service
Pembury Portage Service is a home visiting service for pre-school children with additional educational needs and their families.
It is a partnership between parents and professionals, which aims to support and help the parents to teach their new and useful skills.
The Portage scheme came to the UK from America in 1976, and the Pembury scheme, started in 1980, is now one of the longest-running and largest services in the country. The Team currently visits between 45 and 50 families in West Kent each week.
